The Picatinny Rail system originated in the military to fit rifle scopes securely, but has since evolved to cover more uses, and is now used to attach selected rifle supports such as the gun rest.

The Vanguard Endeavor LDA G2 Lock Down Adaptor is designed to allow you to use your rifle with a (not included) with any suitable Arca compatible tripod head, such as the ball head.

To attach your rifle to the adaptor, simply place the Picatinny rail in the top clamp and close the rapid action level lock. The clamp grip can be adjusted for the optimal grip on your rifle using the 3mm Allen key provided.

To attach the adaptor to your tripod head, simply attach the Arca compatible base into the Arca compatible clamp on your tripod head and close it, and you're good to go.

If your tripod is not Arca compatible, you can still use this adaptor. The base includes a standard 1/4" thread hole so you can attach any quick release plate and use it on any tripod head.  Alternatively it can fit directly onto a tripod/monopod with a 1/4" thread.  

Please note that you may need to remove the safety pins on the base of the adaptor using the 2.5mm Allen key provided to use it an some Arca compatible tripod heads, any quick release plate, or directly onto a tripod/monopod.

If you have a suitable photography or video tripod, this means you don't need a dedicated gun rest.
